About Us
Rooted in Family. Grown by Nature.
Skitopel® began not in a lab, but in a garden — one filled with memories, dirt under fingernails, and the scent of mint and lavender on the breeze.
Our founder, April Robbins, grew up watching her grandmother and father work the soil on their family farm. Her grandmother’s vegetable garden was legendary — rows of potatoes, okra, zucchini, tomatoes, and more — surrounded by bright flowers that drew neighbors from miles around. Each summer, the grandkids helped tend and harvest, learning patience, care, and the joy of growing something from the ground up.
As an adult, April carried those lessons with her. She continued planting flowers, but soon her curiosity turned to herbs — starting playfully with catnip for her cats and growing into an entire garden of lavender, lemon balm, sage, thyme, and mints of every kind: peppermint, spearmint, chocolate mint, and more.
While spending time among her herbs, she noticed something unexpected — the bugs left her alone. No mosquitoes, no gnats, no biting flies. But the moment she stepped away from her garden, they swarmed.
That small realization sparked a big idea.
April began blending the natural oils from her herbs, testing and refining until she discovered a formula that worked — a gentle, plant-based way to keep bugs at bay without harsh chemicals or synthetic scents.
From that garden experiment, Skitopel® was born.
Today, every bottle is made right on April’s farm, using the same homegrown herbs that inspired it all.
What started as a family tradition of gardening has grown into a mission: to share the beauty and protection of nature, just as April’s grandmother once shared her garden’s bounty with the community.
From our family’s garden to yours — naturally.
